Volunteer Resources

MVLC has many resources available to our volunteers to use with your students. Our library has a plethora of resources, in addition to various manipulatives, games, activities, and other resources we have stashed away ready to use. If you are looking for something new to try with your student, or just need that little bit of extra help trying to figure out how to master a skill, please contact us for ideas and resources. Don't feel like you have to search for something new to use for your student because we probobaly already have it at the downtown Learning Center.

Tutor Scoop Newsletters

Our newsletter is another great source of information for tutors.  From tutoring tips to featured resources, this is a great tutoring tool.  The newsletter is published once per quarter and sent electronically to all of our active tutors.  If you would like a copy emailed to you, please contact Michelle Brown.

Website Resources

The Internet is a valuable tool that is of benefit to all tutors and students.  There are many free resources available on the Internet that can be accessed for lessons or practice.

Quarterly Reporting

Each quarter tutors are asked to turn in three work samples and an evaluation of the progress with their student to help maintain the student's portfolio.  If you have any questions about the reporting requirements, please contact Maria Zerhusen.
