We accomplish this by… 

• Promoting literacy and strengthening adult learners and children who are functioning at the lowest literacy levels through instruction, supportive services and resources;

• Enabling native and non-native speakers of English to increase through literacy their self-sufficiency and their ability to participate in a democratic society;

• Recruiting, training and supporting volunteers and literacy providers; and

• Working collaboratively with service providers in the extended community.

How we are funded . . .

There are many funding sources that support the programs of MVLC. Without the support of many of our funders, MVLC would not beable to maintain the services we provide to our students and community.
